How to use this calculator
Estimate game sales revenue after refunds and a configurable platform fee.
How the calculation works
- Multiplies copies sold by average selling price.
- Subtracts estimated refunds.
- Subtracts the platform fee percentage from revenue after refunds.
Formula
Developer revenue = copies x average price x (1 - refund percentage) x (1 - platform fee percentage).
Example
10,000 copies at 14.99 with 8% refunds and a 30% platform fee estimates about 96,536 in developer revenue.
Understanding your result
Use the net estimate as a simplified revenue scenario. It does not represent actual Steam reporting, payout timing, taxes, or regional pricing behavior.
Assumptions and limitations
- This is an estimate, not exact Steam financial data.
- Taxes, regional prices, bundles, chargebacks, payment timing, and other terms can change actual results.
