Identify a useful problem
We focus on tasks people regularly need help calculating, estimating, comparing, or planning.
Build the simplest useful tool
The interface should ask only for the information needed to produce a useful result.
Use transparent logic
Where appropriate, formulas and assumptions are shown on the tool page so the result is easier to understand.
Test the calculations
Deterministic calculator logic is tested against expected results and edge cases.
Improve over time
Tools may be refined based on user feedback, changing information, clearer assumptions, and usage patterns.
Calculators, Estimates, and Planners
Deterministic calculators use direct formulas from the values you enter. Examples include salary, percentage, and split bill calculations.
Estimate tools use assumptions that can change the result. Revenue, sponsorship, platform, and home project estimates should be treated as planning aids, not guaranteed outcomes.
Planner drafts are saved in your browser. A planner snapshot reaches Tool2Do's backend only when you explicitly create a public read-only share link.
Browser-Side File Tools
Current image tools are designed to process files directly in the browser when technically practical. They use browser file, image, and canvas APIs instead of uploading images to Tool2Do infrastructure.
When a tool says an image is processed locally, that statement applies to that tool's current implementation. Future tools that work differently should be labeled clearly.
