How the calculation works
- Choose BPM to milliseconds or milliseconds to BPM.
- Enter the timing value.
- Review straight, dotted, and triplet timing where relevant.
Formula
Quarter note milliseconds = 60000 / BPM. BPM = 60000 / quarter note milliseconds.
Example
At 120 BPM, a quarter note is 500 ms. A 500 ms quarter note converts back to 120 BPM.
